Jonathon: I actually almost bought an Osborne computer once.
My own first computer was an imitation Osborne: an IBM Portable PC with a 9-inch amber display, two floppy drives, no hard drive, and an optional-extra printer card. It was about the size and shape of a sewing machine in its case, weighed 30 pounds (I still have its heavy canvas carrying bag), and cost $2500 in 1985 dollars.
But that 1981 Italian ad says the Osborne can be used on an airplane. Try using a 2010 laptop on a 2010 airplane.
