Sight Gag: Judicial Temperament

“Sight Gags” is our weekly nod to the ironic and carnivalesque in a vibrant democratic public culture.  We typically will not comment beyond offering an identifying label, leaving the images to “speak” for themselves as much as possible.  Of course, we invite you to comment … and to send us images that you think capture the carnival of contemporary democratic public culture.

Beyond a generic sort of interpretation, I am not sure this image speaks for itself. I wuld like to kow more about the origin and context, because I am pretty sure there is a point here that I am mising. Is it a take-off on the “wise Latina?” That doesn’t really seem at play here. Funny, but what’s the point? Should I have viewed it in real time instead of months later?
